John Zandy is Chair of Wiggin and Dana's Labor, Employment and Benefits Department, and has been a partner since 1987. He previously worked as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board and for the Solicitor's Office of the United States Department of Labor in New York City, and was a partner for many years with a law firm in New York City as well where he had a national practice representing employers in labor and employment matters. John has extensive experience in advising employers on a wide spectrum of today's labor and employment issues and has special concentration in labor relations, including National Labor Relations Board proceedings, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, and union organizing campaigns. John also devotes a significant part of his practice to defending employers in cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, and OSHA violations, and in advising them on human resource issues such as discipline and discharge, family and medical leave, union-free policies, employment and non-competition agreements, ADA compliance and OFCCP compliance and audits.
John represents employers in a diverse range of industries including health care (hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, assisted living, and ambulance), manufacturing, technology, other service industries, colleges, universities, other private educational institutions, banks, public utilities and non-profit organizations.
