    • Defending a Big Six accounting firm against multi-billion dollar damage claims in over 30 securities fraud class actions

    • Representing a world-renowned teaching hospital in a corporate reorganization and establishment of a new health care network, including numerous practice acquisitions and affiliations with community hospitals

    • Representing eight local telephone companies from across the U.S. in a successful action to strike down FCC regulations under the 1996 Telecommunications Act -- a landmark case decided by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and now pending before the U.S. Supreme Court

    • Representing a giant Swedish-American pharmaceutical company in an almost $1 billion divestiture of divisions (with Wiggin and Dana lawyers, including young associates, handling the transactions on temporary assignment in Stockholm)

    • Designing and executing the strategy to enforce arbitration in America's second largest franchise system, and thus avoid the bet-the-company risk of dozens of state court jury trials, including class actions (generating five reported decisions from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and one from the U.S. Supreme Court)

    • Serving as special investigative counsel to the Justice Department in the Microsoft antitrust case
