Wiggin and Dana Attorney Named First Vice-President of NYIPLA
Featured Attorney: Dale L. Carlson
Dale L. Carlson will be elevated to the position of first vice-president of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association ("NYIPLA") at an annual meeting of the Association taking place on May 21st at the University Club in Manhattan. His term will run until May 2009. With about 1500 members, the NYIPLA is the largest and most prestigious regional IP law association in the country.

There is much to learn from our predecessors in our profession. This is especially so to the extent we can see and touch artifacts from our “past” that were part-and-parcel of their “present”. Thanks to the good graces of our Association ʼs Board member, Phil Shannon, we have an opportunity to do a virtual Star Trek-ean Mind Meld with members of our Association who are long gone, including one who practiced patent law way back in the late 1880s.

New Registration Requirements for Clinical Trials: FDA Amendments Act of 2007
As a result of recent changes to federal law governing registration of clinical trials, many clinical trials previously exempt from registration must now be registered on www.clinicaltrials.gov , the online registry of federally and privately funded research studies maintained by the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”).
