Based in the New Haven office, Elisabeth is an Associate in Wiggin and Dana's Health Care Practice where she advises health care providers on a wide range of corporate and regulatory issues. She regularly represents clients with respect to affiliations and mergers, provider and physician practice acquisitions, creation of medical foundations, and provider and physician professional services agreements and employment agreements. Her regulatory practice encompasses Medicare compliance; Certificate of Need matters before the Connecticut Department of Public Health's (DPH) Office of Health Care Access; federal and state tax exemption, HIPAA compliance and other privacy matters, and licensure matters before the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, and the Connecticut DPH. Elisabeth previously served as the Interim Risk Manager in-house at a large academic medical center where she provided day-to-day risk management advice.
Before joining the firm, Elisabeth was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Alfred V. Covello and for six years was an officer in the United States Navy where she conducted research in the field of medical education and simulation-based training technology.
Elisabeth received her J.D. with High Honors and an Intellectual Property Certificate from The University of Connecticut School of Law where she was the Business Manager for the Connecticut Law Review. She is the recipient of the 2011 American Law Institute - American Bar Association Scholarship and Leadership Award, the 2010 Aaron Nassau Award, and eight CALI awards for academic excellence in individual courses. She completed the MD coursework at The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and earned her B.A. magna cum laude with Honors and Distinction from Colby College where she majored both in Chemistry with a concentration in Cell Molecular Biology and in Classical Civilization.
Elisabeth serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the University of Connecticut’s Law School Alumni Association, is a member of Wiggin and Dana’s Diversity Committee, and is an author of several peer-reviewed publications.
