Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale, 155 Temple Street, New Haven, CT 06510

The 2017 Cyber and Privacy Forum will take on important issues that businesses continue to deal with on a daily basis. Following a keynote address, speaker to be confirmed at a later date, the current schedule includes a discussion on current trends in cyber risk/security and two general sessions, which will all be followed by two optional breakout sessions.

The first general session will focus on balancing privacy concerns with the growing use of big data analytics. In a largely pre-regulation era of data analytics, businesses are exploring how they can protect the privacy of customers and others while making use of the evolving and promising technology advances. This panel will explore these sometimes-competing interests.

The second general session will address the fact that a U.S.-only view is insufficient in many instances. Globalization is a reality and GDPR (the EU's general data protection regulation) must be considered for businesses of all sizes. This panel is scheduled to include U.S.-based businesses and EU attorneys to address compliance and business activities in an increasingly global marketplace.

The two general session will be followed by breakout sessions. One breakout session will delve more deeply in the GDPR. The other breakout session will focus on privacy and data security issues involved in business transactions. We anticipate that both breakout sessions will be highly interactive.

As always, the program will include time for networking and one-on-one conversations with the presenters and other attendees.
