The panels of experts will discuss recent developments in Litigation, Biotechnology/Pharmaceuticals, Supreme Court Cases, Foreign Patent Practice/Licensing, USPTO Practice.

Dale Carlson's topic is the Federal Circuit's decision in In re Comisky, a case that limits the scope of patentable subject matter in regard to "mental steps" inventions.

His talk will include a discussion of the Federal Circuit's upcoming en Banc rehearing in In re Bilsky slated for May 8th. In the Bilsky rehearing, the Court may reconsider its landmark 1998 decision in State Street Bank regarding the patentability of business methods.
