Tuition Clawbacks

November 10, 2015
Smith College

Over the past few years, aggressive bankruptcy trustees have been suing colleges and universities to recover tuition payments made by parents who later file for bankruptcy. The presentation will cover the legal basis of these clawback cases, actions to take if you receive a demand letter from a trustee, strategies to protect your institution from such claims and the proposed federal legislation to prevent this practice in the future (please click here for a copy of the PowerPoint presentation).

Sharyn Zuch, Chair of Wiggin and Dana's Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Creditors' Right Practice Group, will be speaking on the topic of Tuition Clawbacks at the Fall Workshop for the Eastern Association of College & University Business Officers (EACUBO).  For more information about this subject, please click here.
