Larry Peikes, a partner in the Employment and Benefits Practice Group at Wiggin and Dana, will provide an Employment Law Update.

Larry will be discussing recent developments affecting Connecticut employers, including:

  • the Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower regulations
  • new developments in the law of sexual harrassment, the FMLA, the ADA and the ADEA
  • the DOL overtime regulations
  • tax treatment of contingency fees
  • the status of defamation claims in Connecticut based on the concept of compelled self-publications; and
  • the ever-changing rights of a non-union employee to representation at disciplinary meetings

Larry will also identify employment law issues to look for in the coming year.
