Joe is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Department.
Joe focuses on litigating medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, and other complex tort claims in Connecticut state and federal courts. He also has experience representing clients in commercial disputes ranging from collections matters and litigation for small Connecticut businesses to assisting in matters related to billion-dollar disputes. Joe also assists clients in probate litigation matters and regulatory matters before Connecticut state agencies, including the Department of Health. He enjoys helping Firm clients work through their challenging legal and practical issues of all sizes.
He also devotes time to pro bono representation, including representing veterans and others in family and housing court matters and § 1983 claims.
Joe has experience successfully handling evidentiary hearings, drafting and arguing dispositive motions addressing nuanced issues of Connecticut and federal law, and taking and defending depositions in a variety of matters.
Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Joe worked at two small Connecticut law firms and at a building material supply company in Unionville, Connecticut.
Joe received his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he competed successfully in various mock trial, moot court, and dispute resolution competitions and placed first in his trial practice and legal research and writing courses. He also served as Lead Articles Editor for the Connecticut Law Review. Joe graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, where he majored in Political Science and minored in Criminal Justice.
Joe grew up in Burlington, Connecticut and lives in Middletown. He is an active member of the community and the bar.
