Judd is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Department, where he represents individuals and corporations in civil and criminal matters. In recent years, Judd has focused his practice on complex litigation proceedings, including multidistrict litigation (MDL) and class actions, including claims under the Connecticut Product Liability Act (“CPLA”) and the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act. Judd has also advised clients and their legal departments in federal and state regulatory matters, policy, compliance, litigation defense planning and commercial contract disputes. Representative industries include pharmaceuticals, health care, consumer products, insurance and nonprofit, as well as municipal government.
As a litigator, Judd has also represented indigent defendants charged with federal criminal offenses and prisoners whose rights were violated while incarcerated.
Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Judd worked as a litigation associate for a large New York firm, representing a diverse group of clients engaged in high-stakes commercial litigation, from complex contract disputes to community groups challenging state and local laws and government actions. He also represented corporate executives, political figures, professional athletes, and other individuals in federal, state, and local criminal matters.
Judd received his J.D. from New York University School of Law where he was staff editor of the Annual Survey of American Law and was a member of the International Law Society. As a law student, he interned at the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. He earned his B.A. magna cum laude in Economics from Columbia University where was the winner of the Dean Hawkes Memorial Prize for outstanding work in the humanities.
