Rikesh Patel Joins Wiggin and Dana's Intellectual Property Practice Group
Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that Rikesh Patel has joined the firm as an Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the New York office.
His practice focuses on all aspects of patent counseling and patent prosecution in relation to a wide variety of medical device, mechanical, electrical, and computer technologies. Rikesh drafts and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications, and coordinates with international patent law firms to obtain harmonized, worldwide patent protection. He counsels clients on patent portfolio strategies, patent infringement, validity, and clearance. He also has substantial transactional IP experience, including conducting due diligence for patent portfolios requiring monetization in relation to patent licensing.
Previously, Rikesh worked as in-house patent counsel at a Fortune 500 global medical technology company, and as an associate at a notable intellectual property law firm in Washington, D.C. While in private practice, he performed patent prosecution for a wide variety of technologies, including 3D printing, jet engines, transcatheter aortic valve replacement systems, telecommunications, semiconductors, image processing, and devices related to the “Internet of things” (IoT).

Rikesh graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and received his B.S., cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
