This Spring, in his capacity as Chair of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Committee of the Corporate Bar Association of Westchester and Fairfield Counties, Bob Langer moderated two programs featuring prominent state government officials.

In April, Bob moderated a presentation by recently elected New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. The discussion with Attorney General Spitzer centered around recent cases and developments in antitrust law.

In May, Bob moderated a presentation by Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. In light of his position as current Chair of the Antitrust Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General, Attorney General Blumenthal discussed developments in multi-state antitrust and consumer protection enforcement, discussing topics ranging from health care to the Microsoft case.

Bill Millman, Chair of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, moderated a presentation by the new Commissioner of Consumer Protection for the State of Connecticut, James T. Fleming. Commissioner Fleming, a recent appointee of Governor John Rowland, spoke about his consumer protection enforcement philosophy. The program, held on April 19, was co-sponsored by the Antitrust and Trade Regulation and the Consumer Law Sections of the CBA.

Dale Carlson, Co-chair of the Patent Practice Group at Wiggin & Dana, was named Chair of the License to Practice Requirements Committee of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, the largest regional IP law association in the country. Also, Dale has been named Co-chair of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of The Regional Bar Association of Stamford, Norwalk, Darien and Wilton, Connecticut.
