Rebekeh S. Gulash

Rebekeh is an Associate in the Litigation Department, where she focuses her practice primarily in the International Trade Compliance Practice Group and the White Collar Defense, Investigations and Corporate Compliance Practice Group.

Rebekeh represents companies in corporate compliance and regulatory enforcement matters, with a focus on U.S. export controls (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)), U.S. trade sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR).

Rebekeh has conducted scores of internal investigations into potential export violations, has authored numerous voluntary disclosures, and has experience developing, implementing, and auditing corrective actions designed to address and prevent export violations. Rebekeh has been seconded to several leading aerospace and defense contractors, where she worked closely with in-house counsel and compliance personnel to investigate and resolve export compliance and policy matters. While seconded, Rebekeh was directly involved in day-to-day export compliance activities and case management, which involved interacting with executives, employees, customers, and vendors at all levels, developing and presenting compliance reports, conducting site-wide licensing and policy audits, reviewing and updating export compliance policies and procedures, conducting matter intake to triage, and rapidly producing incoming ethics and compliance reports.

Rebekeh also has experience litigating commercial disputes, including contract claims and business torts, and representing individuals pro bono in civil rights matters.

Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Rebekeh was an associate at a Connecticut firm focusing on criminal defense, where she participated in all stages of criminal litigation, including assisting with the review, evaluation, and investigation of cases, counseling clients, and working with the courts and prosecuting authorities to resolve criminal matters. Prior to attending law school, Rebekeh worked in the corporate department of a large international law firm in New York, where she conducted due diligence for corporate transactions, prepared disclosure documents and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings related to employee benefits and executive compensation, and tracked and assisted clients in complying with proposed and new regulations.

Rebekeh received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was the Editor in Chief of The Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law and a staff editor of the Texas International Law Journal. She received her A.B. from Brown University in Classics and Italian Studies. Rebekeh is proficient in Italian and is developing her skills in Russian.
