Client Success

Sprxng

Sprxng, a next-generation developer of menstrual products founded by Phyllis Mugadza, developed the first reusable menstrual product that includes a therapy for menstrual pain.

Wiggin and Dana worked with Phyllis to trademark the name and logo for Sprxng and register a provisional patent for the product that Phyllis invented. She was able to register her company as a legal entity and to complete the intellectual property applications for her invention. This allowed Sprxng to be pitched at Yaleโ€™s biggest entrepreneurship competition, Startup Yale, and be awarded the Thorne Prize for Social Innovation in Health or Education, as well as the audience choice award.

Phyliss stated, โ€œThe opportunity to work with the Wiggin and Dana attorneys through WOI was a transformative and memorable experience. I was given the opportunity to work with distinguished practitioners as well as the invaluable opportunity to learn from them. Initially, I thought that working with attorneys would be an intimidating experience because of the inherent power dynamic between attorney and client. However, every attorney that I worked with fostered a safe environment for me to grow as a first-time business owner and young professional while I took the steps to build my company.โ€

Among the Wiggin and Dana attorneys on the Sprxng WOI team were Anthony Sabatelli, Robyn Abbate, Thomas Landman and Brian Pattengale.
