December 17, 2024

Partner Jeff Babbin was reappointed by Chief Justice Raheem L. Mullins to serve a new two-year term on the Connecticut Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules. Jeff has served on the Committee since his initial appointment in 2015. The Committee advises the Connecticut state appellate courts on proposed amendments to the rules of appellate procedure. It consists of a Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, a Judge of the Connecticut Appellate Court, selected attorneys experienced in appellate advocacy, and representatives from the appellate clerk’s office and staff.

Jeff is a Partner in the Appellate Practice Group within the firm’s Litigation Department. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and former co-chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Section. He handles both complex civil appeals and legal motions in the trial courts. His appeals have involved constitutional issues, insurance, product liability, securities, medical and other professional malpractice, breach of contract, fraud, other business and personal torts, and labor relations. Insurers have retained Jeff to pursue appeals on behalf of healthcare providers in some of the largest medical malpractice verdicts ever in Connecticut.
