Partner Jolie Apicella Quoted in STAT Article on New FTC, DOJ and HHS Health Care Counsels
On December 19, 2023, Partner Jolie Apicella was quoted in the STAT article titled, “What the new health counsels at FTC, DOJ, and HHS might do.”
In response to the FTC, DOJ, and HHS adding new officials to investigate price-gouging in health care, Jolie said that someone promoted through one of the agencies into this position might find it harder to form an independent opinion on these issues given the context of their previous job mandates. She continues, “The question mark in my mind is whether they go and find someone more independent โ maybe in academia or in policy โ or they up someone internally.”
