Partner John Doroghazi Quoted in New Haven Biz on Local Restaurants Expansion
On March 13, 2023, Partner John Doroghazi was quoted in the New Haven Biz article, “Hungry To Grow: Local restaurants seek expansion through multiple locations and franchising.” The article highlights several New Haven County restaurants that have decided to expand their brands and grow their customer base in recent years in a tough market.
John is quoted stating, “Despite recent economic uncertainty, entrepreneurs are still seeking to expand their concepts, especially in sectors like restaurants, fitness, car washes and medical services.” Futhermore, John references the recent legislation set for a 2024 vote in California that would set up a state council to establish minimum wage, working hours and working conditions for all franchises which is seen as a major threat by the industry. John states, “If that passes and stays in effect it will fundamentally alter franchising, … and that’s a really, really, really big deal.”
