Wiggin and Dana has launched DRIVE People groups, its new Employee Resource Group (ERG) initiative. Built around underrepresented groups in the legal profession, membership in DRIVE People groups is open to everyone at Wiggin and Dana – lawyers and business professionals alike.

Designed to foster community and connection among Wiggin and Dana colleagues, the first four DRIVE People groups focus on Women, the LGBTQ+ Community, People of Color and Caregivers. Additional groups may be added to reflect the desires of the firm’s constituents.

Business professionals and lawyers share leadership of the groups, as each is co-chaired by a lawyer and a Business Operations professional. All co-chairs will receive training and all participants will have access to the various leadership and professional development opportunities.

The decision to include Business Operations professionals alongside lawyers in DRIVE People was intentional.

“Launching DRIVE People is an important step towards expanding the support needed for a more diverse and equitable firm, and to making our processes, systems and business decisions more inclusive,” said Tim Diemand, Wiggin and Dana’s Managing Partner. “Our Business Operations professionals are absolutely critical to our operations and we need to make investments in everyone who contributes to our success.”

Diversity of thought enriches our culture and informs our business decisions.”

DRIVE People groups are an integral part of Wiggin and Dana’s commitment to a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization.  People Groups are employee-led, self-directed, and truly inclusive workplace groups. By providing regular programming, events, and professional development opportunities for participants, DRIVE People Groups help foster community, build cultural awareness, and support career and business development.
