Partner Michael Kasdan Quoted in and Contributed to The Washington Post Article About Trade Secret Issues When Employees Change Jobs
On August 26, 2022 Partner Michael Kasdan was quoted in and contributed to The Washington Post article titled, “Leaving your job? Take these steps before returning your work devices.” The article discusses best practices for transitioning out of a position and returning company devices as it relates to the protection of trade secrets. Mike noted, “the safest, most conservative thing to do is to go to your employer first…ย but you should also have a broader concept of what [might be considered] trade secrets.” The article suggests keeping personal information separate from work devices to prevent this issue. Mike stated, โnot everyone can have two phones and two laptops…but it does help to be organized โฆ and [honest] with your employer.โ
