Wiggin and Dana’s Life Sciences Practice Group Announces New Counsel and Associate for 2021

Wiggin and Danaโ€™s Life Sciences Practice Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Monica A. Kolinsky, Ph.D to Counsel, effective January 1, 2021, and the addition of Associate Kelsey E. Loomis.

โ€œWe are proud of Monicaโ€™s accomplishments and recognize her excellence in the field,โ€ said Patti Melick, Chair of the Life Sciences Practice Group, โ€œand we welcome Kelsey to our growing group and believe her skills and in-house experience make her a unique asset to the firm and our clients.โ€

Monicaโ€™s practice focuses primarily on life sciences and biotechnology transactional matters including licensing, corporate partnering and other technology-transfer transactions. She also provides intellectual property-related support for due diligence matters, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation.ย She is experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences area and maintains an active patent prosecution practice.ย Monica works directly with a range of clients in the life sciences industry, including domestic and European public companies and emerging biotechnology and pharmaceutical startup companies.

Kelsey joins the Life Sciences Practice Group having most recently served as Research and Development Associate Counsel for Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where she provided advice and counsel to the global Research and Development organization on clinical trial matters as well as research programs and collaborations. Kelsey also previously served as Corporate Counsel at Achillion Pharmaceuticals, where she advised clients on R&D, privacy and healthcare compliance matters.
