On May 16, 2024, Wiggin and Dana will offer alumni a virtual CLE program on ethics and professionalism in commercial negotiations.

This program will discuss the ethical and professional responsibility overlay for attorneys engaged in commercial negotiations. From acquisition and divestiture transactions, to commercial contracting, to the corporate governance behind the scenes, attorneys have duties that should be top of mind, even if your practice doesn’t routinely find you inside of a courtroom.

Topics Include:

• Obligations of Competence and Diligence (i.e., attentiveness)
• The Unauthorized Practice of Law in an increasingly multijurisdictional world
• Confidentiality, Candor, and Respect for the persons around the table
• Interacting with persons represented by counsel (and those who are not)

This program is offered exclusively to Wiggin and Dana alumni who are seeking CLE credit. Participants can earn up to 1.0 New York CLE credits in Ethics and Professionalism. Connecticut CLE will be based on actual instruction time.
