On June 5, 2023, Associate Jenna Cutler and Assistant Connecticut State Comptroller and General Counsel, Yamuna Menon, will moderate a discussion at the Connecticut Bar Association’s 2023 Connecticut Legal Conference featuring Heidi Alexander, Director of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being, and Associate Jermaine Brookshire Jr. on how intersectionality and allyship affect mental health and the well-being of legal professionals. Intersectionality encompasses the idea that we have more than one identity with a combination of various identity markers such as gender, race, religion, sexuality, etc.

To that end, the session will explore how these identity markers intersect with one another and shape an individual’s experience in the legal profession and will also offer practical tips and advice on how to cultivate a safe space that makes room for lawyers to authentically be well while doing well professionally. Attendees can earn Ethics CLE credit.
