The Impact of the Recent Changes in US Patent Law on the Materials Industry

When: November 21, 2002

Rapp’s Paradise Inn

The owner of a patent has a number of rights that may have significant economic value. United States laws governing patents have changed dramatically in recent years. Some of these changes, such as publication of pending patent applications and potential liability for infringement prior to a patent grant, are important to the researcher and business manager. This talk will present an informal summary of interesting, significant or humorous, historic patents relating to the materials industry and then briefly discuss how the recent law changes affect today’s patent applicants and patent owners.

Gregory’s professional patent law experience and familiarity with materials engineering will make his talk an enjoyable, interesting, and informative technical dinner presentation for members and guests of the Chapter.
