Andrew Bauer Joins Wiggin and Dana’s New York Office as Partner in Corporate Practice
Wiggin and Dana LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew Bauer has joined the firm as a partner in the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC) practice in the firm’s New York office. Andrew brings extensive experience advising technology-driven and venture-backed businesses at all stages of growth, from startups to publicly traded companies.
Andrew will serve as outside general counsel to companies in the fintech, artificial intelligence, and broader technology and life sciences sectors. His practice includes advising clients on commercial transactions, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation and employment matters, and internal investigations. He routinely works with executive leadership teams, boards of directors, and cross-functional stakeholders to navigate corporate strategy, operational risk, and business-critical transactions. In prior roles, Andrew helped companies scale their legal functions from early product launches through major capital raises and public listings, offering guidance on everything from employment policies and equity plans to investor communications and contract structuring.
Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Andrew served as General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel at several fintech and AI companies, including Better Mortgage, Notable Finance, and Pagaya Technologies. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and as a partner in private practice advising institutional and individual clients on enforcement, compliance, and governance issues.
As a prosecutor, Andrew was a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. He led investigations and prosecutions involving securities fraud, insider trading, and other complex frauds. He also conducted investigations into alleged violations by pharmaceutical manufacturers of the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and other statutes. “Andrew is a genuine high-level player in New York’s emerging companies’ ecosystem, with an impressive ability to scale client relationships and identify new opportunities,” said Paul Hughes, Chair of Wiggin and Dana’s Corporate Department. “He brings the entrepreneurial mindset, practical judgment, and collaborative spirit that define our team.”
Mr. Bauer earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
“I am excited to join a firm that understands the needs of high-growth businesses and values practical, solutions-oriented advice,” said Andrew. “The firm offers the ideal platform to grow my practice and collaborate with outstanding attorneys across multiple disciplines.”
