The Licensing Venture Capitalist: Equity Investments in Licensing Transactions

Many strategic alliances in IT, biotech, pharma, and other high-tech industries include an equity investment by the industrial partner in the technology partner. We’ll discuss why companies make (and take) such investments, and what types of investments are made and how they fit with the other aspects of the business deal. We will also explain and illustrate the key legal terms so that the licensing professional may be better equipped to negotiate this increasingly important element of licensing transactions.
