Attorney Jermaine Brookshire, Jr. to Give Lecture at Quinnipiac University School of Medicine

When: January 12, 2023

Corporate and Health Care Associate Jermaine Brookshire, Jr. has been invited to give a lecture on January 12^th at Quinnipiac University School of Medicine to first- and second-year medical students who are in the Health Policy and Advocacy Concentration. Jermaine will illustrate how medical students and especially practicing physicians can interact with state legislators to inform them about the health care needs of their patients and the techniques that they can practice to effectively encourage legislators to enact statutes which support sound medical practice.

Specific learning objectives for students:

Fundamentally understand their role in the policy making process.

Identify and learn how to leverage opportunities of service as rising medical professionals to influence policy initiatives.

Learn how to maximize the meeting with the legislator through exploring agenda setting and message framing strategies.

Examine common pitfalls and learn standout tactics to building the relationship with the legislator.
