Audit Survival Guide for PAs
On Thursday, August 4, 2022, Partner Jody Erdfarb will be presenting at ConnAPA’s, “Audit Survival Guide for PAs” webinar.
This webinar will address what you should know to survive an audit and provide information about the different types of audits, with a focus on the Connecticut Medicaid audit process. It will describe in detail the Medicaid audit process as set forth in statute, from receipt of the initial audit notification letter from the Department of Social Services (DSS) through the judicial appeal process, including the auditor’s record review and the opportunity to respond and rebut any adverse findings. It will share practical tips and informal ways to work with auditors to get the best result possible. Guidance regarding negotiating disallowances, challenging sampling and extrapolation methodology, and drafting responses will be offered. Finally, common recent audit findings will be discussed to help providers not only respond to such findings, but also avoid similar pitfalls before DSS initiates an audit.
