IIPCC Fall IP Experts Panel Series | Panel 1 | IP Basics
This session is the first in a Fall series of web-based expert panels and discussions focusing on intellectual property commercialization, as hosted by the International Intellectual Property Commercialization Council (IIPCC).
Panel 1: “IP Basics” is intended to provide a working knowledge of the various types of IP. Wiggin and Dana IP Partner Michael Kasdan and Energy Transition Partners Managing Director Everardo Ruiz will lead this overview discussion on September 22nd.ย
Panel Description:
It is important to understand that your firmโs intellectual property (IP) is valuable and requires protection. Recognizing the value of IP: How do I protect my โsecret sauceโ and know-how? Is it important to seek IP protection of non-technology in our company? Is a one-size-fits-all approach to IP protection reasonable?
IP Basics will discuss the fundamentals of patents, copyright, trademark, and trade secrets, along with the importance of viewing them as valuable business assets which require protection as part of a larger IP strategy.
