On May 16, Partners Michael Clear and Matthew Smith will present at the seminar titled, Issue Spotting: Trusts in Divorce Matters. Hosted by the Fairfield County Bar Association, Michael and Matthew will discuss the following topics:

• How trusts are protected or attacked for purposes of property division
• A discussion of the relevant terms of trusts
• A discussion of what beneficial interests should be considered “vested” for purposes of initial disclosures and a ultimate property division
• A discussion of the relevance of the new Connecticut Trust Code, recent legal decisions, and the ability to force trust distributions
• How to disclose a trust on a financial affidavit
