Partner Michael Kasdan Participating in US Patent and Trademark Office’s Roundtable on Patents and NFTs
On January 26, 2023, Partner Michael Kasdan will be a featured IP practitioner speaker at the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) virtual roundtable on patents and non-fungible tokens. Mike will be speaking about intellectual property law and policy issues associated with patents and NFTs.
This program is the first in a series of three virtual roundtables looking at intellectual property (IP) law and policy issues associated with non-fungible tokens (NFTs). It will focus on patents and NFTs, providing panelistsโincluding technologists, patent owners and practitioners, academics and industry representativesโwith an opportunity to share their knowledge and inform a joint study conducted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the United States Copyright Office. This study continues the two officesโ ongoing work to explore emerging technologies and their implications for IP rights and it responds to a request from the Senate Committee on the Judiciaryโs Subcommittee on Intellectual Property.
