Quinnipiac School of Medicine to Host Attorney Jermaine Brookshire, Jr. for “Effective Legislative Advocacy II”

When: February 23, 2023

Corporate and Health Care Associate Jermaine Brookshire, Jr. will return to Quinnipiac University School of Medicine on February 23, 2023, to present tips for effective legislative advocacy to practicing physicians, faculty, and medical students in the Health Policy and Advocacy Concentration.

Jermaine will lecture on the legislative process overall, illustrate the pros and cons of techniques used by lobbyists through exploring some of his experiences during his time serving as a Senior Policy Analyst at the New York State Assembly, and explain best practices to optimize the meeting with the legislator.

Ultimately, attendees will learn techniques that will aid them with efforts to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships and be able to identify opportunities to leverage their expertise as medical professionals to inform and influence legislators to advance policy initiatives that sustain sound medical practice.
