Trust Assets and Divorce: Life from the Trenches

Litigator Steven Malech and Trusts and Estates Lawyer Daniel L. Daniels, two partners at Wiggin and Dana, will be presenting a seminar entitled Trust Assets and Divorce: Life from the Trenches.

Seminar Description: Address planning opportunities and litigation challenges under New York and Connecticut law. Topics will include typical cases in which a trust is vulnerable to inclusion in the divisible marital estate including, without limitation: (a) whether the inclusion of an ascertainable standard weakens the protections a trust affords; (b) the design of a trust to provide maximum protection (including issues with self-settled trusts); and (c) considerations in determining whether a trustee must disclose financial information.
