This discussion will focus on what start-up companies need to know about intellectual property. It will review the main categories of IP – patents, trade secrets, copyrights, and trademarks – and discuss strategic issues with respect to procurement and use of IP and how to avoid risk of third party IP. It will also discuss key IP-related clauses and issues to be dealt with in early stage agreements.
