Katie Baiocchi Honored with Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association’s 2025 Rising Star Award

Wiggin and Dana is proud to announce that Katie Baiocchi, an associate in our Litigation Department, has been named the recipient of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association’s 2025 Rising Star Award.

This distinguished award celebrates a civil defense attorney who is truly “one to watch,” a rising professional making significant contributions to the legal community, the civil defense bar, and beyond. Honorees demonstrate early leadership and exceptional potential to shape the future of the profession.

As a member of the Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group and the Insurance Defense Practice Group, Katie has experience drafting and arguing motions in both State and Federal Court, taking and defending fact and expert depositions, and preparing cases for trial. Katie has significant trial experience and has second-chaired several jury trials for the firm’s health care clients.

Beyond her litigation work, Katie is deeply committed to the profession. She actively mentors junior attorneys and female students at the University of Connecticut through the CLAS Women’s Leadership Collective. Her dedication to service is reflected in her pro bono legal support for Lawyers for Children of America (LCA) and her past volunteer work with Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS). She also serves as DRI’s Young Lawyer Liaison to the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee, contributing to thought leadership in this specialized field.
