Launch of the New York Intellectual Property Alliance (NYIPA)

October 14, 2020

On October 20, 2020, the New York Intellectual Property Alliance (NYIPA) will be launching, with Partner Michael Kasdan serving as its Chairman. The Founding Committee of the NYIPA includes former USPTO Director and current Cravath partner David Kappos, Manny Schecter of IBM, Brian Hinman of AON IP Solutions, Bruce Berman of Brody Berman Associates and the Center for IP Understanding, and Rick Quarles of Kirkland & Ellis.

The purpose of this organization is to serve as an intellectual property hub while spearheading events and opportunities for education and collaboration among IP creators, inventors, lawyers, investors, educators, government representatives, and other members of the New York IP ecosystem.

The NYIPA will be the third such IP alliance in the country, and a part of the US IP Alliance, joining the ranks of the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance (GIPA) and Illinois Intellectual Property Alliance (ILIPA) to help raise IP awareness and education, grow collaboration among IP creators, protectors, and enablers, and increase IP diversity and inclusion.

For more information, or to join the NY IP Alliance, please contact Partner Michael Kasdan.
