Partner Mary Gambardella Quoted in Best Law Lawyers Employment Law Issue

On May 26 2022, Partner Mary Gambardella was quoted in Best Lawyers Employment Law Issue article titled, “Employment Entanglements.” The article discusses the challenges employers and employees face in a post-COVID-19 environment and evolving work culture.

One of the challenges employers face is return to office (RTO) mandates and the exceptions. Mary shares her experience working with clients seeking guidance on how to safely implement RTO mandates while complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) stating, “Employers need to go out of their way to accommodate an employee who’s afraid to come back because they have an underlying condition and cannot work remotely.” In contrast, remote work is “becoming the expectation rather than the exception” with a high demand from job applicants.
