Partner Michael Kasdan Quoted in Cointelegraph’s Article About Hermes “MetaBirkins” Trademark Lawsuit

On January 30, 2023, Partner Michael Kasdan was quoted in Cointelegraph’s article titled, “Hermès v MetaBirkin: NFT trademark stoush heads to trial in Manhattan”. The article discusses the luxury brand Hermès filling a suit against digital creator Mason Rothschild after they released a Metabirkins NFT collection, using the brands iconic Birkin bag without permission. Kasdan said, “This case focuses on the line between expressive artistic reuse and infringing commercial use. In the end it’s just going to be one district court case data point but definitely an interesting one.”
