Partner Michael Menapace Quoted in Business Insurance Regarding BIPA

On November 1, 2022, Partner Michael Menapace was quoted in Business Insurance’s article titled, “Biometric privacy award sparks reactions in insurance market.” The article discusses how the first jury verdict in a case involving Illinois’ Biometric Privacy Act, that regulates the collection of biometric identifiers, could increase the cases filed under the 2008 law. Michael stated, “It will all depend on the specific wording of the policies at issue and the claims being made. I don’t think we can paint a broad brush.”
