Partner Paul Tuchmann Featured in the Media to Provide Insight on Sam Bankman-Fried Verdict
On November 3, 2023, Partner Paul Tuchmann appeared on CNBC’s Crypto World program to provide legal insight into the verdict in the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried.
Paul was also quoted in the Law360 article titled, “Bankman-Fried Faces ‘Uphill Battle’ Appeal, Decades In Prison.” Paul explains, “There’s an idea that the defense wasn’t allowed to put on the case it wanted to put on, and that has a certain currency.” But Paul further says that Bankman-Fried nevertheless faces a “very uphill battle” on appeal because the government presented a clean, straightforward fraud case during a monthlong trial that featured damaging testimony from members of Bankman-Fried’s inner circle.
In addition, on November 1, 2023, Paul was quoted in the Wired article titled, “Sam Bankman-Fried Sealed His Fate Long Before the FTX Trial.” Paul says that while Bankman-Fried may not regret taking the stand because the prosecution’s case effectively left him with no choice, he must regret the many public statements he made before his arrest: “He made it significantly easier for the prosecution. He made his bed. Now he’s lying in it.”
