Partner Robert S. Hoff was quoted in an article for Law.com’s Legaltech News and published in the New York Law Journal. Robert discusses the impact of increased blockchain litigation on the approach to E-Discovery and the requirement for lawyers to keep up with the latest technology in financial transactions and modern communications.

Robert is quoted as saying lawyers have to “think outside the box a little bit and think about nontraditional ways of doing discovery” in cases involving new technologies. Not only are transactions taking place on new platforms like blockchain, but Robert noted that younger professionals are employing newer means of communication, such as internal and ephemeral chat tools. “This is the way people coming up in the professional world behind us are learning to communicate and they’re using tools that e-discovery doesn’t traditionally deal with, and we’re going to have to learn to deal with it.”
