Partner Tadhg Dooley Quoted in the Media on Correctional Reform
On January 12-13, 2024, Partner Tadhg Dooley was quoted in several articles describing the Connecticut Correction Advisory Committeeโs selection of finalists to be appointed by Governor Lamont as the stateโs first Correction Ombuds.
Both the Correction Advisory Committee and the Office of Correction Ombuds were created in the PROTECT Act of 2022, as part of a wide ranging effort toward correctional reform in Connecticut. Tadhg, as co-chair of the Correction Advisory Committee, presided over a four-hour hearing at the Capitol on January 11th, at the end of which, the Committee selected civil-rights attorney Kenneth Krayeske as their top choice for the new position, followed by longtime correctional reform advocate Barbara Fair, and state public defender Hilary Carpenter. The governor will have one month to make an appointment from among the three finalists.
Tadhg was quoted in the CT News Junkie and was quoted praising Krayeske for โthe thought and detail that he had put into his plan for the first year of the office,โ and calling on โthe members of the Appropriations Committee, members of the Judiciary Committee and others to do more in this upcoming short session [of the legislature] to fully fund this office.โ
