Wiggin and Dana Secures Dismissal of COVID-19 Insurance Coverage Lawsuit by Real Estate Company

Partner Michael Menapace and Associates Catherine Baiocchi and Alundai Benjamin recently helped secure a victory for American Guarantee and Liability Insurance Co. in a COVID-19 business interruption insurance coverage case. The Law360 article, “Real Estate Co. Can’t Get $12M Virus Coverage Under Policy,” discusses a Real Estate firm’s bid to recover nearly $12 million in pandemic-related losses from their insurer. The Connecticut Superior Court for the District of Hartford found that this claim falls clearly within an exclusion for contamination-related damages.
