Wiggin and Dana’s Outsourcing and Technology Practice Ranked Among National Leaders

February 11, 2020

Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that in 2019 its Outsourcing and Technology Practice Group has again been recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 and is a winner of Accenture’s 2019 Value Award.

Wiggin and Dana’s Outsourcing and Technology group continues to be ranked nationally as a leading practice in the 2019 edition of the annual Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In addition, Chambers USA also again ranked five of the firm’s partners nationally—Mark Heaphy, John Kennedy, George Kimball, Sarvesh Mahajan and Tamia Simonis.

Chambers USA noted that Wiggin and Dana has a “specialized team” representing global suppliers in complex, international, outsourcing transactions. Clients value the team’s significant knowledge of changes and developments in the outsourcing marketplace, commenting that the group is “progressive in new deal shapes and on top of where the market is going and why.”

The Legal 500 is widely acknowledged as the world’s largest legal referral guide. More than 300,000 corporate counsel have been surveyed and interviewed globally in the past 12 months, and firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit. Five lawyers have also been recommended in The Legal 500 U.S. 2019 editorial section, Media, Technology and Telecoms— Outsourcing. They are Mark Heaphy, John Kennedy, Sarvesh Mahajan, Tamia Simonis and Michael Hubbard.

Mark Heaphy, chair of Wiggin and Dana’s Outsourcing and Technology group, said, “Over the past decade, we have built a strong, effective and diverse team of practitioners. This allows us to provide outsourcing and technology suppliers the same level of experienced, sophisticated representation that their customers receive from elite international firms.”

Accenture’s Legal Department also awarded Wiggin and Dana its 2019 Outside Counsel Value Award. Their annual program recognizes the outstanding contributions of their preferred outside counsel firms globally.

Mark Heaphy said, “this recognition reflects our team’s commitment of providing insight and value, a collaborative approach and the highest level of service and support to our clients. We’re pleased to have our group recognized by an important client, Accenture, and in Chambers and The Legal 500, alongside traditional market leaders and as one of the only practices focused on service provider clients.”

Rankings in Chambers USA are based on confidential in-depth interviews with key inhouse counsel and peer interviews with leading lawyers. All editorial comments about individual lawyers, as well as the rankings, are independent and objective.
