Laura Ann is a Partner in the firmโs Litigation Department. She represents hospitals and health care providers in cases alleging professional negligence, with a focus on defending claims of wrongful death, birth trauma, and catastrophic injuries. Laura Annโs practice frequently involves obstetrical and neonatology claims, and she works with her healthcare provider clients to find answers in this complicated and emotionally driven area of medicine. Laura Ann also handles marine insurance coverage disputes, with an emphasis on yacht and liability coverages. As a member of the firmโs Litigation Department, Laura Ann has represented both individuals and corporations in bench trials, jury trials, administrative hearings, and arbitrations.
In 2019, Laura Ann was named a โNew Leader in the Lawโ by the Connecticut Law Tribune. She was also selected as the 2019 recipient of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Associationโs โRising Star Award,โ an award which is presented to a civil defense lawyer โwho is truly โone to watchโ because of his or her contributions to the profession, the civil defense bar, and the community.โ She has been included in The Best Lawyers in Americaยฎ โOne to Watchโ list for Medical Malpractice Law (Defendants) since 2021.
Laura Ann received her J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she served as a Symposium Editor for the Connecticut Law Review, and was President of the Mock Trial Society. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College, where she was a member of the varsity sailing team.
Laura Ann currently sits on the Board of the Center for Childrenโs Advocacy, and she is a member of the New Haven Inn of Court. Laura Ann is an active participant in the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee of DRI, a national defense organization, and she is also an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the U.S.
