2024 American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Annual Conference on Immigration Law
Wiggin and Dana Partner Najia Khalid, a business immigration attorney and Founder/Past Chair of the AILA-Connecticut Chapter’s Business/Corporate Immigration Committee, will present on a panel with esteemed colleagues at the 2024 AILA Annual Conference on Immigration Law. The conference will be held June 12-15, 2024 at the McCormick Place Convention Center West Building in Chicago, IL.ย AILA’s annual conference brings together the largest gathering of immigration law professionals in the country. This four-day event with over 120 CLE sessions and 5+ concurrent tracks across business, family, litigation, law practice management, and fundamentals covers an expansive array of topics.
On Thursday, June 13th from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m., Najia will participate in an intermediate-level panel as part of the conference’s business track entitled: Immigration Challenges Faced by Beneficiaries from Countries with Backlog and Retrogression Issues. ย Along with her fellow panelists, she will address how employee beneficiaries are frozen in time between here and abroad by the immigration quota system and explore how to develop long-term plans/advise clients regarding issues arising in the seemingly endless path to permanent residence.
