Michael Kucharski

Associate

Michael is an Associate in Wiggin and Danaโ€™s Antitrust and Technology Disputes Practice Group and a member of the Litigation Department.

Michael has extensive experience advising clients in all aspects of merger control filings. He has particularly deep expertise in advising clients with filings under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. He has advised clients in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, oil and gas, consumer products, technology, social media, financial institutions, and logistics. He has helped guide many clients to successful merger clearances in front of the FTC and DOJ, as well as a first of its kind review of a joint venture between a Mexican Ultra-Low-Cost air carrier and an American Ultra-Low-Cost air carrier, in front of the Department of Transportation, which resulted in a successful clearance of the transaction. Michael has additionally represented clients in front of the antitrust regulators in the EC, UK, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, India, China, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Vietnam. Michael has led global teams to coordinate multi-jurisdictional filings to ensure timely compliance with simultaneously filing requirements across a wide range of jurisdictions.

In addition to his merger control experience, Michael has represented companies in numerous government investigations, including compliance with various Second Requests and Civil Investigative Demands issued by the FTC and DOJ. He has also represented several social media companies in front of global regulators in bet the company antitrust investigations.

Michael is also experienced in handling complex antitrust litigation disputes, including several high-profile MDLs alleging price-fixing, group boycott, and other violations of the antitrust laws.

Prior to joining Wiggin, Michael was an associate at two global law firms in New York in the firmsโ€™ antitrust practice. Michael earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School where he was an Articles Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. He received his MSc with Merit in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in International Relations from The George Washington University, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
