Affirmative Action In College And University Admission Programs

March 12, 200211:00am
New Haven Lawn Club, 193 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, Connecticut
The seminar follows up on our December 2001 Education Client Alert. It is intended to provide practical assistance in designing admissions procedures that adequately take account of recent judicial pronouncements on race as a factor in admissions.

The seminar:

  • focuses on identifying the extent of legal risk implicit in various admissions policies and practices and developing ways of minimizing that risk.

  • addresses the admissions process at colleges and universities.

The seminar may be of interest to other institutions that are faced with similar issues. Audience participation is encouraged, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Victor A. Bolden, a former NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc. Assistant Counsel, has litigated leading cases in this area involving the university systems of Georgia, California, and Tennessee.

Participation in the seminar is free of charge. If you are interested in attending, please call Pat Owens at (203) 498-4450 to reserve a spot. Please also feel free to invite anyone else from your institution who may want to join us.
