Connecticut Alliance for Business Opportunities Appoints Wiggin and Dana Lawyer to Board of Directors
New Haven – Connecticut Alliance for Business Opportunities (CABO) has appointed Wiggin and Dana's Jason Smith to the Board of Directors.
Mr.Smith is a member of the firm's Private Client Services Department in the firm's Stamford office. Receiving his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as the Managing Editor of the Yale Journal of Law & Technology, Jason's past experience includes work as a law clerk for the United States District Court, District of Connecticut, and the ACLU Lesbian and Gay Rights and HIV/AIDS Project in New York.
"Jason's commitment to the LGBT community is especially strong, and we at Wiggin and Dana are proud of his many accomplishments," says Bob Benjamin, Chair of the firm's Executive Committee. "His experience working with the National LGBT Bar Association and their Family Law Institute, as well as serving on CABO's Lawyers group, all make Jason an ideal choice to join the CABO Board of Directors. We wish him well."
CABO's mission is to create, identify and enhance business opportunities for LGBT and LGBT-allied organizations, thereby fostering a more inclusive and vibrant Connecticut economy. CABO, the 2011 National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of the Year, in just four short years, has done what no other affiliate of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) in the country has: it's become the NGLCC's prestigious 2011 Chamber of the Year after winning its Rising Star of the Year honor just two years before that.
