The franchise law practice of Wiggin & Dana LLP, which is run out of the firm’s Philadelphia office, has established a franchise law Web log, or what is commonly referred to as a “blog.”

The blog is the first of its kind for franchise law, according to Wiggin & Dana officials. Blogs allow people or groups to post news or commentary all throughout the day in an easy-to-read format.

“The nature of blogging is having up-to-the-minute information everyday — all in one place, with new articles on current issues in the industry being posted multiple times a day,” said Joseph Schumacher, chairman of Wiggin & Dana’s franchise and distribution practice group. The group represents Subway, Maaco, GNC and others.

The firm says that their blog has already been picked up by the Daily Whirl (www.dailywhirl.com), a law-focused Web site that picks up information from more than 100 legal news and blog sites.
