Shaun S. Sullivan Inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers
Shaun S. Sullivan, Chair of the Litigation Department at the law firm of Wiggin & Dana LLP, was recently inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
A litigator with Wiggin & Dana for over 30 years, Mr. Sullivan was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2002 and inducted on July 19, 2003 at the Academy's Regional Meeting in New York City.
The International Academy of Trial Lawyers began in 1954 and is limited to 500 members from the United States. The admission procedure includes independent evaluations by trial judges and lawyers. Members include civil and criminal trial practitioners representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Shaun is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, former Chairman of the College's Committee on Alternatives for Dispute Resolution, and a past Chair of the College's State Committee. He has the distinction of having been chosen by his peers for listing in The Best Lawyers of America since 1987, in the categories of business and personal injury litigation, and is a past Chair of the SBL Litigation Section of the International Bar Association. Shaun also has been chosen for listing in the Guide to the World's Leading Litigation Lawyers, and Chambers USA America's Leading Business Lawyers . He has been appointed by the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for Connecticut as a Special Master to supervise all aspects of lengthy pretrial proceedings in a complex antitrust action involving, among other things, the ability of a foreign corporation to take advantage of a European "blocking statute" to avoid the discovery orders of a United States court. He also has been selected to serve as a Special Master in a number of state court pretrial proceedings. Shaun is a frequent lecturer on trial practice and litigation-related subjects. Shaun also is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
